How do I order and pay for an item shown here on the site?
E-mail me with the desired item(s) and your postal code (or country if out side the US) and I will give you the total including postage*. You can pay me with check or credit card via PayPal , or you can send a check, cashier's check or money order (I will provide you with my mailing address). Personal checks will be accepted but will delay shipping of item(s) until check has cleared.
How long will it take for me to receive the item(s)?
That depends. The jaw sets are often in stock, and I can ship those as soon as I receive your payment. But for the mounts and rugs - each is a custom-made piece created just for you. Generally I figure on about 4 weeks time from the point I receive payment to the day I ship the item. Often it is sooner than that, but if there will be any reason for a longer delay, I will let you know before you order. I will do my best to make reasonable deadlines.
What if I'm not happy with what I ordered?
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it at your expense for a refund minus a 15% restocking fee. Just let me know you will be returning the item and I will issue you a refund through PayPal if that's how you paid, or I'll send a cashier's check or a money order if you don't use PayPal.
I'm interested in having something created that's not shown in your site - can you do that?
Quite possibly - just drop me an e-mail and let me know what you have in mind. Anything I make (except jaw/skull casts - what you see is what you get) can be individually customized - for instance, I can make different color phases of certain animals. Mounts can be done with varying coat patterns and hues, and in some cases poses/expressions can be altered. Prices will be adjusted according to how complicated the customization is. Also - feel free to send me photos of what you have in mind.
How do I care for my mount/rug?
In the case of rugs, these are not machine-washable, but the fur can be wiped down with a damp sponge or cloth to remove surface dirt (same treatment for mounts). A mild detergent is fine for this, but don't let the water penetrate through to the liner, where it is likely to stain. Also - never use any kind of solvents on any part of a rug or mount - it may take the paint off and dissolve the plastic. The fur can be brushed from time to time to keep it fluffed up, and to shake out any dust. I don't recommend that rugs be placed where they will be exposed to any real foot traffic, as the fur will get matted and dirty. It may also be possible to dry-clean the rug, but you would have to ask your drycleaner.
Can I modify or paint jawsets/skulls?
Yes you can - the urethane can be sawed and ground by ordinary tools, especially Dremel-type hobby tools. The inner foam bonds very well with hot glue, and 5 minute epoxy works well too. As for paint, the surface should be lightly scuffed with a scotch-brite pad and then wiped down with laquer or paint thinner, or denatured alcohol to get rid of any mold release or skin oil. Then the cast can be primed with automotive primer or white primer, then painted with any spray paint enamel or acrylic paints. If painted with acrylic paints, a sealer should be applied.
Do you offer wholesale pricing/volume discounts? If so, what are the terms?
Wholesale/volume discount orders are gladly accepted - the terms for this is ordering 4 or more mounts at one time. For jawsets and skull casts, 5 or more skulls or 10 or more jaws qualify for volume/wholesale. This does not apply for custom work orders.
